Crispy Rösti hearts and spiky tomato dip

Here is a cute and funny way to serve your Hero Rösti Original with this very simple recipe that will allow you to surprise your guests and feast themselves...


Ingredients


For the tomatoe dip...

  • 1 tbsp of olive oil

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • ½ bell pepper, diced

  • 1 can of crushed tomatoes

  • 2 tbsp tomato puree

  • 1 tbsp cane sugar

  • 1 small bunch of basil, chopped

  • 1 tsp sweet paprika

  • 1 tsp of salt

  • ½ tsp chili powder

For the Rösti hearts...

Preparation


  1. Start by preparing the tomato dip. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the onion and pepper and sweat for 5-6 minutes.

  2. Incorporate the chopped tomatoes and all other ingredients and simmer over medium heat for 30-35 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  3. Blend the sauce until it becomes smooth with the device of your choice.

  4. While the sauce is simmering, prepare the Rösti hearts.

  5. Preheat the oven to 220 ° C and cover a baking sheet with baking paper.

  6. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients for the Rösti hearts.

  7. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, mold the rösti 3-4mm high.

  8. Bake for 20 minutes.

  9. Then, using a spatula, flip the Rösti hearts and cook for another 15 minutes until golden brown.


Serve the Rösti hearts with the sauce immediately :)
